What is IDOL?
IDOL is fan-economy money. MEET48 is built around the SNH48 Group, the Chinese idol franchise whose business rests on training performers and letting fans vote on their careers, and it moves that model on-chain: voting, virtual gifts and content tools priced in a token instead of tickets and paper ballots.
The platform went crypto-native in stages. MEET48 joined BNB Chain's Most Valuable Builder accelerator in late 2024, launched its MEET48.ai content platform on 7 February 2025, and held the IDOL token generation event on 11 June 2025 through Binance Wallet with listings following on several exchanges the same day.
IDOL supply and tokenomics
Total supply is 4.8 billion IDOL. The published allocation gives 45.2% to community incentives including future airdrops, 20% to ecosystem support, 17% to the team and advisors with the team's 15% on a four-year linear unlock, 7% to strategic and private backers, 5.8% to marketing, 3% to liquidity and 2% to an IDO.
An airdrop preceded the launch, snapshotted on 21 May 2025 and claimable from early June, and the token generation event ran through Binance Wallet on launch day. Most supply remains subject to the vesting and reserve schedules above, so unlocks are a structural part of the token's future.
Who builds IDOL
MEET48 leverages the SNH48 Group's resources and holds virtualization rights for the franchise's roster of more than 700 performers, giving it something most token projects lack: an existing content machine with idols, shows and a fan base, its flagship award event staged alongside the group's annual gala. On the crypto side it raised at a reported 100 million dollar valuation in April 2025 from HashKey Capital, Hash Global and Xin Family's Liang Xinjun with participation from Animoca Brands, and YZi Labs announced an investment that June.
What people use IDOL for
IDOL is designed to be spent, not just held: the platform prices participation in it, and competition votes are its heaviest use.
- Voting in idol popularity auditions, including the annual WIPA event held in Hong Kong in August 2025.
- Paying for AI idol creation and content tools on MEET48.ai.
- Buying virtual goods and gifts around performances.
- Serving as in-game currency for the platform's music and dance titles.
IDOL risks and considerations
IDOL is young and thinly proven. In July 2025, weeks after launch, an exploit of an airdrop custodial wallet took 169.98 million IDOL, then worth about 5.8 million dollars; the team responded with a buyback and pledged part of the team allocation to a security fund, but the incident shows operational risk beyond the token contract itself.
Demand depends on one company's entertainment pipeline and on fans continuing to route spending through a token, and the vesting schedule releases large allocations over several years. There is also no on-chain governance: holding IDOL grants participation in platform events, not control over the project.

What do fans use IDOL for on MEET48?
Mostly voting: idol popularity competitions such as the annual WIPA audition are decided by votes paid in IDOL, with the Hong Kong event in August 2025 recording more than 78 million of them. The token also pays for AI idol creation tools, virtual goods and the platform's games.
Who is behind the MEET48 project?
MEET48, a Web3 entertainment platform working with the SNH48 Group idol franchise, whose performers it holds virtualization rights for. It joined BNB Chain's builder accelerator in late 2024, and its 2025 raise at a reported 100 million dollar valuation included HashKey Capital, Hash Global, Animoca Brands and Liang Xinjun, with YZi Labs investing that June.
How is the IDOL token supply allocated?
Of 4.8 billion tokens, 45.2% goes to community incentives and airdrops, 20% to ecosystem support, 17% to team and advisors with the team's share unlocking linearly over four years, 7% to early backers, 5.8% to marketing, 3% to liquidity and 2% to an IDO.
What was the July 2025 IDOL wallet exploit?
An attacker compromised a custodial wallet holding airdrop tokens and took 169.98 million IDOL, valued around 5.8 million dollars at the time. MEET48 responded with a token buyback and committed a portion of the team allocation to a security fund. The token contract itself was not reported as compromised.
What is IDOL used for?
IDOL is used for trading, portfolio rotation, or ecosystem exposure in DeFi. It ranks #147 by 24-hour trading volume among the tokens tracked on 1inch. The role of the token can vary by network, liquidity conditions, and the route you choose, so it helps to review the quote before you confirm a swap.
Which networks support IDOL on 1inch?
IDOL is available on supported networks where liquidity exists and the route can be quoted in the 1inch dApp. Support can differ by chain and current liquidity conditions, so check the token selector and live quote in the Swap flow before you trade.
How does 1inch find the best IDOL rate?
1inch compares supported routes and optimizes execution across available liquidity sources on BNB Chain, splitting your order across pools when that improves the IDOL price.
How do I protect my IDOL trades from MEV?
1inch adds MEV protection in supported intent-based flows to reduce exposure to front-running and sandwich attacks, which matters most on volatile or thin IDOL routes.
