Swap MASK at the Best Rate
MASK is the governance token of Mask Network, the browser extension that layers encryption, payments and other Web3 features onto social platforms such as X and Facebook. One hundred million tokens were created at genesis, and holders form MaskDAO, where each token is one vote. MASK launched in February 2021 through an Initial Twitter Offering, a token sale conducted inside the social feed itself.

What is MASK?
MASK is an ERC-20 token attached to a piece of consumer software: a browser extension that runs on top of social sites and adds abilities the platforms do not offer, including end-to-end encrypted posts, token transfers, NFT display and in-feed token sales. The extension first shipped in July 2019 as a tool for encrypting Facebook and Twitter posts.
The token is the ownership layer on top of that product. MaskDAO, whose members are MASK holders, owns the Mask ecosystem, and each token carries one vote over its direction and treasury.
How MASK works
Mask Network works where its users already are. The extension detects the social site open in the browser and injects features into the page, so a post can carry an encrypted payload or an interactive widget that only other Mask users can decrypt or act on. The launch mechanism, the Initial Twitter Offering, sold tokens through exactly that kind of widget.
The February 2021 public sale ran in two stages: 3% of supply through fixed-price ITO rounds capped at 2,000 MASK per address in each round, and 4% through a Balancer liquidity bootstrapping pool intended to discover a market price before open trading began.
MASK supply and tokenomics
One hundred million MASK were created at genesis and no more can be added. The public sale carried 7%, early investors held 14.25% and the team 23%, with the largest share, just under 40%, kept in reserve for the ecosystem, according to the project's published breakdown. Locked allocations followed a schedule that completed by month 36, so the full supply has circulated since early 2024.
Who builds MASK
Mask Network was founded by Suji Yan, who started the company behind it, Dimension, in 2017. The project raised 2 million dollars in November 2020 in a round co-led by HashKey and Hash Global, then another 3 million dollars in February 2021 with Digital Currency Group and Fundamental Labs participating. Its code ships from the DimensionDev organization on GitHub.
What people use MASK for
The token's utility follows the product: it is the governance instrument of MaskDAO and the asset used across Mask's own features and campaigns.
- Vote in MaskDAO, where one MASK equals one vote.
- Join ITO token sales run inside social feeds.
- Send tips and token transfers to social accounts through the extension.
- Show and trade NFTs from a social profile.
MASK risks and considerations
Mask Network's features live inside platforms it does not control, so interface changes or policy shifts at X or Facebook can break or limit what the extension does. The token's fortunes track adoption of that software; there is no protocol fee stream behind it.
Ownership is lopsided: the ecosystem reserve and team allocations together approached two thirds of the supply at genesis. The MASK ticker is also used by unrelated tokens on other chains, including a Solana memecoin, so confirm you are trading the Ethereum contract at 0x69af81e73a73b40adf4f3d4223cd9b1ece623074.

Questions? Answers.
What is an Initial Twitter Offering?
It is Mask Network's own launch format: a token sale that runs as an interactive widget inside a tweet, visible to anyone with the extension installed. Buyers purchased MASK directly from the feed in fixed-price rounds, capped at 2,000 tokens per address in each round, without visiting a separate exchange or sale site.
Is all of the MASK supply unlocked?
Yes. The genesis allocation schedule released every locked tranche by month 36 after the February 2021 launch, so since early 2024 the entire 100 million supply has been in circulation. Nothing further vests, and the contract cannot mint more.
Is MASK on Solana the same token?
No. Token lists carry an unrelated Solana memecoin under the same ticker, and other networks host bridge copies with separate addresses. Mask Network's own token is the Ethereum ERC-20 at 0x69af81e73a73b40adf4f3d4223cd9b1ece623074, so check the address rather than the symbol before swapping.
Who controls Mask Network?
The token announcement places ownership of the Mask ecosystem with MaskDAO, in which every MASK is one vote. Day-to-day development is led by the company Dimension under founder Suji Yan, whose team maintains the open-source extension and the wider product line.
What is MASK used for?
MASK is used for trading, portfolio rotation, or ecosystem exposure in DeFi. It ranks #65 by 24-hour trading volume among the tokens tracked on 1inch. The role of the token can vary by network, liquidity conditions, and the route you choose, so it helps to review the quote before you confirm a swap.
Which networks support MASK on 1inch?
The 1inch token catalog lists MASK on 3 networks, including Ethereum. Support can differ by chain and current liquidity conditions, so check the token selector and live quote in the Swap flow before you trade.
How does 1inch find the best MASK rate?
1inch compares supported routes and optimizes execution across available liquidity sources on Ethereum, splitting your order across pools when that improves the MASK price.
How do I protect my MASK trades from MEV?
1inch adds MEV protection in supported intent-based flows to reduce exposure to front-running and sandwich attacks, which matters most on volatile or thin MASK routes.
