What is Mog?

Mog Coin is an ERC-20 memecoin whose brand is the Joycat, a grinning cartoon cat usually drawn in Pit Viper style sunglasses. The name comes from the slang verb to mog, derived from AMOG or alpha male of group, meaning to outshine everyone around you. The project's website calls MOG the internet's first culture coin and sums it up as tokenized winning.

There is no protocol behind the token. MOG's own site states plainly that it is a meme coin with no intrinsic value or expectation of financial return, offered for entertainment. What the token does have is distribution and recognition: it became a fixture of crypto social media through 2023 and 2024 and is listed on large exchanges including Coinbase, Kraken and Bybit.

How Mog works

The Ethereum contract is a plain ERC-20 with no transfer tax. Its ownership has been renounced to the zero address, which removes the owner-only functions: nobody can mint more MOG, pause transfers or add fees. That fixes the token's mechanics permanently, though it also means nothing can be changed if a problem is ever found.

MOG also exists beyond Ethereum. The project's site lists deployments on Base, Solana and BNB Chain next to the Ethereum original, with transfers between them handled by the canonical Base bridge and LayerZero. The Base token this page lists is the one the project itself publishes as backed one to one by mainnet MOG.

Mog supply and tokenomics

420.69 trillion MOG were minted at launch in July 2023, a number chosen for meme value rather than any economic schedule. Distribution happened through a Uniswap V2 liquidity pool fair launch: no presale, no team tokens and no investor allocation, so the early supply went to whoever bought on the open market.

Supply has only moved downward since. Community burns have destroyed about 30 trillion tokens, roughly 7% of the original amount, leaving the on-chain total supply near 390.6 trillion as of July 2026. The contract has no mint function, so the supply cannot grow.

Who builds Mog

Nobody has claimed authorship of Mog Coin. The website says the token was born as a meme among friends and launched with no formal team or roadmap, and no company, foundation or named individuals stand behind it. Growth has come from holders producing memes and from the Joycat's spread through online culture, along with occasional brand moments such as a sunglasses collaboration with Pit Viper.

What people use Mog for

MOG does not stake, vote or gate access to anything; its use is cultural. Holders trade it on decentralized exchanges such as Uniswap, move it between the project's listed chains through the official bridge, and use the Joycat as a shared identity in posts, avatars and community events. Whether that attention holds value is exactly the open question the token's own disclaimer points at.

Mog risks and considerations

MOG has no cash flow, no utility and no development roadmap, so its price rests entirely on attention and community conviction, which historically swing hard in both directions. The project's own website states the token has no intrinsic value and is for entertainment purposes only, and there is no team accountable for outcomes.

The renounced contract cuts both ways: no one can change the token's mechanics, and no one can fix or upgrade them either. Same-name tokens exist on networks the project does not list, so verify any MOG contract against the official address list before trading anywhere other than Ethereum and Base.
