Swap Pnut at the Best Rate
PNUT is a memecoin on Solana created in early November 2024, in the days after New York wildlife authorities seized and euthanized Peanut, a pet squirrel with a large social media following. It was minted anonymously through pump.fun, has a fixed supply of about 1 billion tokens, and carries no utility, no governance and no issuer. Its price is a bet on attention, nothing else.

What is Pnut?
PNUT is a meme token named after Peanut, an Eastern gray squirrel rescued in 2017 by Mark Longo and raised at his animal sanctuary in Pine City, New York, where the animal drew hundreds of thousands of social media followers. On 30 October 2024 the state Department of Environmental Conservation seized Peanut and a raccoon named Fred from the home; both animals were euthanized for rabies testing, and the tests came back negative.
The episode landed days before the US presidential election and became a national story, amplified by Elon Musk and other political figures. An anonymous creator minted PNUT on Solana while the outrage was peaking, and the token rode the news cycle onto major exchanges, including a Binance spot listing on 11 November 2024.
How Pnut works
There is no protocol behind PNUT. It is a standard SPL token created through pump.fun, the Solana launchpad that mints a fixed supply onto a bonding curve and then graduates successful tokens to open trading with the liquidity pool locked by burning. Exchange due-diligence pages list the mint authority as renounced, the liquidity burned and no transfer taxes.
That means nobody can print more PNUT, change its rules or freeze it, and equally that nobody is obligated to build anything with it. Trading is the entire product: the token moves when attention to the meme moves, and the underlying story concluded with lawsuits and legislation, not with a product roadmap.
Pnut supply and tokenomics
Supply is fixed at roughly 1 billion tokens, the pump.fun standard, all released through the launchpad's bonding curve at creation in early November 2024. There was no team allocation, no presale and no vesting: whoever wanted PNUT bought it on the curve or on exchanges afterward, including the anonymous creator and early snipers.
Nothing in the design adds or removes supply over time. There is no staking, no burn mechanism and no treasury, so the float is essentially the whole supply, and large early buyers can still hold outsized positions that move the market when they sell.
Who builds Pnut
No team stands behind PNUT. The creator has never identified themselves, there are no docs, no roadmap and no company, and the social accounts promoting the token are community-run. Mark Longo, the squirrel's owner, was not part of the launch; his public fights since have been a negligence lawsuit against New York officials and support for Peanut's Law, a state bill adding due process before seized sanctuary animals can be euthanized.
For a holder this cuts simply: there is nobody to deliver anything, and also nobody with insider control of the contract, which is immutable with its mint authority renounced.
Pnut risks and considerations
PNUT is among the purest attention assets in the market. It produces nothing, pays nothing and claims nothing; its price history is a sequence of news spikes, exchange listings and long drawdowns, and nothing obligates the next spike to arrive. Memecoin cycles have repeatedly rotated to newer tokens, taking liquidity with them.
Concentration and anonymity add mechanical risk: early wallets accumulated cheaply on the bonding curve, and with no issuer there is no disclosure of who holds what beyond what on-chain analysis surfaces. Only trade the verified contract address, since copycat squirrel tokens launched in the same news wave.

What is PNUT based on?
The token commemorates Peanut, a pet squirrel euthanized by New York environmental authorities after a 30 October 2024 seizure, alongside a raccoon named Fred. Rabies tests on both animals came back negative, and the case became a national controversy that later produced a lawsuit and a state bill known as Peanut's Law.
Who created the PNUT token?
An anonymous wallet minted it on pump.fun while the story was going viral, and no creator has ever been identified. It is not an official project of the squirrel's owner or his sanctuary, and there is no company, foundation or development team behind it, only community-run social accounts.
Does PNUT have any utility or governance?
No. It is a fixed-supply meme token with no staking, no voting, no product and no revenue. The contract's mint authority is renounced and its launch liquidity was burned, so the rules cannot change, but the only thing a holder owns is exposure to the meme's popularity.
How many PNUT tokens are there?
About 1 billion, minted once through pump.fun's bonding curve in November 2024 with no team allocation or vesting. Nothing can mint more, and small amounts sent to burn addresses only trim the total, so the circulating supply is effectively the full billion.
What is Pnut used for?
Pnut is used for trading, portfolio rotation, or ecosystem exposure in DeFi. It ranks #74 by 24-hour trading volume among the tokens tracked on 1inch. The role of the token can vary by network, liquidity conditions, and the route you choose, so it helps to review the quote before you confirm a swap.
Which networks support Pnut on 1inch?
Pnut is available on supported networks where liquidity exists and the route can be quoted in the 1inch dApp. Support can differ by chain and current liquidity conditions, so check the token selector and live quote in the Swap flow before you trade.
How does 1inch find the best Pnut rate?
1inch compares supported routes and optimizes execution across available liquidity sources on Solana, splitting your order across pools when that improves the Pnut price.
How do I protect my Pnut trades from MEV?
1inch adds MEV protection in supported intent-based flows to reduce exposure to front-running and sandwich attacks, which matters most on volatile or thin Pnut routes.
