Swap nes at the Best Rate
NES is the native token of Nesa, a layer-1 blockchain built for running AI model inference privately and verifiably across a distributed network of nodes. NES pays for inference queries and transaction fees, is staked by validators and miners, rewards model developers, and votes on network parameters. Nesa's mainnet went live on 9 May 2026 with one billion NES created at genesis; the Ethereum token is an ERC-20 representation used for trading.

About nes
nes is a token traded on Ethereum. On 1inch, the swap aggregator compares supported routes across DEX liquidity to help improve a crypto swap involving nes, while you keep full control of your funds in your own wallet.
nes ranks #43 by 24-hour trading volume among the tokens tracked on 1inch. It is a micro-cap asset, with a market capitalization of around $30.1M. Beyond Ethereum, the 1inch token catalog lists nes on one more network.

What is nes?
Nesa is a proof-of-stake layer-1 that treats AI inference as the workload to secure: instead of ordering token transfers alone, its nodes execute queries against machine learning models and publish proofs that the execution happened as claimed. The design combines trusted execution environments, zero-knowledge proofs and model sharding so that inputs stay private while results stay checkable.
NES is the economic unit of that machine. Users spend it to run queries, node operators bond it to earn the right to serve them, model authors are paid in it when their models are called, and holders vote with it. The token in the 1inch catalog is the ERC-20 representation on Ethereum, which trades on exchanges while the native asset lives on Nesa's own chain.
How nes works
Inference requests enter the chain as PayForQuery transactions, which carry the query data, a namespace and payment. Fees combine a flat per-transaction charge with a variable component based on the size of the work, and the fee market is gas-price prioritized, so heavier or more urgent queries pay more.
Miners must stake a bonded pool of NES to join the active inference rotation, and a node that returns corrupted output or misses its commit window can have that stake slashed. Model developers who upload weights to Nesa's repository receive protocol-level compensation in NES each time their model is queried, which is how the network populates itself with models.
nes supply and tokenomics
One billion NES were created at the mainnet genesis on 9 May 2026. Issuance continues through inflation that starts at 8% per year and decays by 8% of itself annually until it settles at a long-term floor of 1.8%, so the supply is not capped. From genesis, 2% of block rewards flow into a community pool that stakers can vote to spend on ecosystem initiatives.
The distribution is weighted toward ecosystem and community allocations, with the remainder split across launch liquidity, investors, the team and early contributors on multi-year vesting schedules. Only a minority of the genesis supply circulated at launch, so unlocks will keep arriving for years.
Who builds nes
Nesa was founded by Marco Di Maggio, director of the Harvard Crypto and Web3 Lab, a former Harvard Business School professor and a professor at Imperial College London, together with Patrick Colangelo, a Harvard graduate with a software and infrastructure background. The project publishes academic-style papers on its cryptographic techniques, including its equivariant encryption approach to private inference.
The token reached public markets in June 2026, when Binance Alpha featured Nesa as a spotlighted project with an airdrop campaign alongside exchange listings.
How nes is governed
Network governance runs on the Nesa chain itself. NES holders, not only stakers, can propose and vote on changes to a published subset of network parameters, while validators and their delegators secure consensus under the proof-of-stake model. The Ethereum ERC-20 is a trading representation and does not carry those on-chain voting mechanics with it.
What people use nes for
NES is spent, bonded or earned wherever the network does inference work, which gives the token several distinct jobs across one economic loop.
- Paying per-query fees for AI inference submitted through PayForQuery transactions.
- Covering gas for transactions and data storage on the Nesa chain.
- Staking by validators, miners and delegators to secure consensus and the inference rotation.
- Compensating model developers whose uploaded models get queried.
- Voting on network parameter changes.
nes risks and considerations
The Ethereum contract is a transparent upgradable proxy, meaning its owner can change the token logic, and explorers flag it accordingly; holders of the ERC-20 are trusting the project's key management on top of the network itself. The representation also has to stay redeemable against the native asset for its price to track the chain's economics.
Nesa's mainnet is young, its inflation never falls below 1.8%, and most of the genesis supply was still vesting at launch, so dilution arrives from both issuance and unlocks. The pitch depends on sustained demand for decentralized inference, which remains an early market.

Questions? Answers.
What does the NES token actually pay for?
Running AI models. Queries are submitted as PayForQuery transactions whose fees are paid in NES, covering both a flat transaction charge and a size-based component, with part of the fee compensating the nodes that execute the inference and the developers whose models are called.
Is the NES token on Ethereum the same as the native Nesa asset?
It is an ERC-20 representation used for exchange trading, deployed behind an upgradable proxy contract, while the native asset lives on Nesa's own proof-of-stake chain where staking and governance happen. The two are linked by the project rather than by an ownerless mechanism, so treat the ERC-20 as issuer-managed.
Who created Nesa?
Marco Di Maggio, who directs the Harvard Crypto and Web3 Lab and taught at Harvard Business School before becoming a professor at Imperial College London, co-founded Nesa with Patrick Colangelo. The project launched its mainnet on 9 May 2026 and was featured on Binance Alpha the following month.
Is the NES supply capped?
No. One billion NES existed at genesis, and the protocol keeps issuing new tokens through inflation that starts at 8% a year and shrinks by 8% of itself annually until it reaches a permanent 1.8% floor, with 2% of block rewards routed to a community pool.
What is nes used for?
nes is used for trading, portfolio rotation, or ecosystem exposure in DeFi. It ranks #43 by 24-hour trading volume among the tokens tracked on 1inch. The role of the token can vary by network, liquidity conditions, and the route you choose, so it helps to review the quote before you confirm a swap.
Which networks support nes on 1inch?
The 1inch token catalog lists nes on 2 networks, including Ethereum. Support can differ by chain and current liquidity conditions, so check the token selector and live quote in the Swap flow before you trade.
How does 1inch find the best nes rate?
1inch compares supported routes and optimizes execution across available liquidity sources on Ethereum, splitting your order across pools when that improves the nes price.
How do I protect my nes trades from MEV?
1inch adds MEV protection in supported intent-based flows to reduce exposure to front-running and sandwich attacks, which matters most on volatile or thin nes routes.
